Dec 23, 2021 · Obituary. Jeanette “Jenny” Lanier Dees, 83, of Southport and formerly of Burgaw passed from her earthly life Thursday, December 23, 2021 at her home. She was born June 24, 1938 in Kinston, the daughter of the late Lonnie Lanier and Mamie Cottle Hollowell. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Dees, MD in 2003. Emily created a home filled with sunshine and smiles as she loved entertaining family and friends. Emily’s sweet spirit and radiant smile will be missed.
