Allegedly the driver gets some (or all in some places) of that fee, but I don't know for certain. Their solution was to increase our mileage reimbursement from 32 cents a mile up to 35 cents a mile. Prices go up on gas over 50 cents over night and our company vomits out 3 cents a mile to make up for it. They also increase their delivery fee by $1.50 but give us a whopping extra 3 cents!The Delivery charge is NOT A TIP. The way I like to explain it is that it goes towards the mileage cost for the driver. Driver mileage is recorded and they are paid according to how many miles that driver drove on that shift.The delivery fee is irrelevant to how much you should tip. Drivers don't get any of that fee. 15-20% of the pre discount order amount same as a server. drivers see zero percent of the delivery fee. It’s written on the boxes and several other places on the website.The entire amount that Domino's, or their franchisees collect is put toward providing this service to their customers. It's mileage to me.. I get 1.40 for every delivery from the delivery fee. That doesn't come out of the delivery fee. Drivers were getting mileage before the delivery fee was introduced..
